Leaves very broadly ovate-orbicular to broadly elliptical-oblong, thick, 1-3 x 1-2 cm, subentire to weakly crenate, truncate or subcordate at base. Peduncles 1.5-2 mm thick. Sepals membranous. Petals 13-20 mm. Achenes glabrous. Fl. (4)-7. Rocky slopes nr. melting snow, reaching 3000 m. Type: [Transcaucasia] in Somchetiae alpibus ilwensibus, C. Koch. E. Anatolia, Lydia.
