P. luzuloides Jaub. & Spach, 111. Or. 2: t. 126 (1844-46). Similar to P. setosum, but the leaves lanceolate, more than 5 rnm broad, strongly revolute at the margins, and the stem branched below the inflorescence. Often taller and more robust than P. setosum. Fl 7-9. Slopes and ledges, 2000-3100 m. Type: In Persiae montibus Elwind, Aucher 2589. A9 Kars: nr. Tuzluca (Grossheim 3: map 90). B7 Malatya: Bey Da., nr. Malatya, 1865, Hausskn. B9 Bitlis: Siiphan Da. above Adilçevaz, 3100 m, D. 24637! Muş: Varto, 1500 m, Kotschy 565! Van: Erek Da., 2100 m, D. 22896! Siirt: Uçum, 22 km S W of Mukus, 2250 m, Frödin 248. Soviet Armenia, N.W. & W. Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. Possibly only a subspecies of P. setosum. More material is necessary from S.E. Turkey before its status can be assessed. |
