A. kurdica (Schlecht) Alef. in Öst. Bot. Zeitschr. 12: 253 (1862). Syn: Althaea kurdica Schlecht. in Linnaea 17: 127 (1843). Perennial herb. Stems hispid, with long and short stellate hairs, tomentose, with ± small adpressed stellate hairs, only rarely glabrescent. Leaves lobed, the upper leaves often rather deeply so. Involucre less than ½ as long as the calyx. Calyx striate. Petals yellow, white or pink, 40-50 mm. Mericarps winged, the wings straight, ± erect, stellate-pilose. Fl. 8. Slopes, 2500 m.
