Bulb ovoid, 1-2 cm; outer tunics membranous, greyish-biack; bulblets yellowish, smooth. Stem 40-60 cm. Leaves 4-5, 6-8 mm broad, flat, glabrous. Spathe soon caducous. Umbel globose, (4-)5 cm diam., dense, many-flowered.Pedicels slender, 2-4 xflowers. Perianth ovoid or camp anulate; segments bright pink, with purple midvein or purple in upper part, shining, 3.5-5 mm; outer lanceolate, scabrid ulous, longer than oblong -lanceolate inner ones, all acute. Filaments almost twice as long as perianth; outer triaaguiar-subulate, inner scarcely broader than perianth segments; cusps of inner filaments subequal. Capsule c. 4 mm. FL 6-7. Dry rocky and volcanic slopes, 2400-2500 m. Type: [USSR, Soviet Armenia] Shorbuiag, Erivan, [1200 m, dry clayey slopes] (iso. LE!). E. Anatolia. B8 Bingöl: Bingöl to Çat, Bingöl Da., 2500 m, T. The cited specimens may also have some affinity to A. ampeloprasum subsp. iranicum Wendelbo, but their perianth segments are lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate (not ovate) and acute or subacute. |
