A.opacum Rech. fil. in Ark. Bot.n.s. l(5):302, t. 1 (1949). Map 15. Bulb ovoid, 1 cm diam.; outer tunics brown, inner tunics white, shiny, membranous. Stem 16-23 cm, erect, ±flexuous, finely sulcate-striate, at first green, then yellowish. Leaves filiform, less than 1 mm broad, cylindrical, often as long as stem, glaucous. Valves of spathe scarcely dilated at base, ±unequal, 1.4-4 cm , herbaceous, often 2 x as long as umbel. Umbel 1.5-3.5 cm diam., many-flowered; pedicels unequal. Perianth campanulate; segments pale yellow with a non-coloured midvein, ± subpruinose, opaque, never shiny, c. 4 mm, ovate-elliptic, acute at apex. Filaments pale yellowish, not exserted or scarcely longer than perianth segments.
