Stem 80-120 cm, slightly ribbed. Leaves 4-5, linear-lorate, 1 l-25(-30) mm broad, lower part channelled, with white flexuous or retroflexed hairs, rarely glabrous. Spathe 2-valved, shorter than umbel. Umbel spherical, 6-10 cm diam., many-flowered. Pedicels 2-5 cm. Perianth stellate; segments purple, linear, 7-9 mm, with margins parallel for 2/3 then attenuate, obtuse, limp, rolled back. Filaments rather abruptly long-sabulate above broadened connate base, somewhat shorter than perianth. Oyary verruculose, stipitate. Capsule globose, 4 mm, depressed. Fl 6. C10 Hakkari: Sat Da. between Varegöz and Sat G., 2400-2600 m, D. 45629! N. Iraq, W., C. & S. Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. The specimen from C10 Hakkari is incomplete, lacking bulb and leaves. The species was referred by Wendeibo in Rech. fil., FL Iranica 76:85 (1971) to Sect. Megaloprason Wendeibo of Subgen. Melanocrommyum (Webb & Berth.) Wendelbo. Sect. Kaloprasum C. Koch. Bulb subgtobose. Stem stout at maturity, tapering towards base. Leaves basal, with no above-ground sheaths. Umbel ± lax. Pedicels often markedly unequal Spathe persistent. Perianth stellate to broadly campanulate segments rigid and straight after anthesis. Filaments simple. Ovary with 6-10 ovules per locate. |
