Erect, sparsely hairy, perennial herb, 15-30 cm. Leaves 15-20 cm; leaflets 10-20 mm, elliptic, acute or obtuse, sparsely white spreading simple-hairy, 13-18-paired; stipules 8-10 mm, triangular-lanceolate, united at the base. Peduncles 6-17 cm. Flowers subsessile, in a dense, cylindrical, 20-35-flowered raceme or spike. Bracts 5-10 mm, lanceolate. Calyx 11-13 mm, tubular, sparsely black and white simple-villous; teeth 3-5 mm, linear. Corolla greenish-yellow or yellowish violet; standard 18-22 mm, not contracted above. Legume 10-12 x 5-6 mm, ovoid, white simple-pilose; beak c. 3 mm. Fl. 7. Steppe, igneous slopes, 1800-2050 m.
