A. cancellatus Bunge, Astrag. Geront. 2:178 (1869). Syn: A. pseudocancel-latus Grossh. in Beih. Bot. Centr. 44(2): 221 (1927). Ascending to erect, caulescent, perennial herb, 25-40 cm. with a branched woody caudex: stems 9-25 cm. Leaves 2-6 cm; leaflets 5-10 mm. linear-oblong tonarrowly oblong, densely adpressed-bifurcate-hairy, 7-12-paired; stipules 3-4 mm, triangular, joined at the base. Peduncles 3-7 cm. Inflorescence 1.5-2 cm diam., a dense, globose, c. 15-flowered spike. Bracts 3-7 mm. lanceolate. Calyx 8-10 mm, campanulate. densely long white simple-villous: teeth 4-5 mm, subulate. Corolla violet; standard 13-18 mm, glabrous. Legume 6-8 mm. ovoid to ovoid-oblong, densely long, white, simpie-villous, erecto-patent; beak 3-4 mm, curved. Fl. 5-6. Gravel on river terrace, Artemisia steppe, 950-1620 m. Syntypes: [N.W. Iran] prov. Adserbidshan, Aucher 4425: prope Urmiah, Stoddart: in locis apricis adpagum Tschorbula distr.
