Stems erect, 45-70 cm, spreading-pilose, rather strictly branched. Leaves lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, the median stem leaves 5-7 mm wide at the base, all pilose. Calyx tube spreading-pilose, strongly ribbed, 15-18(-20) mm; teeth (15-) 20-35 x 2-3 mm. Petals whitish to violet-red, 30-35(-40) mm, exceeded by the calyx teeth. Fl. 4-7.
