F. suffruticosa (Vent.) Sweet, Hort. Brit. 467 (1827). Syn: Lunaria suffruticosa Vent., Hort. Cels. 19 (1800). I?: Flora Azerbaidzhana 4: t. 34 (1953). Suffruticose perennial. Lower leaves oblanceolate-spathulate; stem leaves linear. Petals crimson-purple. Siliculae broadly ovate, a little emarginate at the apex, glabrous. Style 3-11 mm. Fl. 6. Stony places, 2000-2500 m. Syntypes: Persia, inter Hamadan et Casbin, Michaux; ad montem Elwend, Olivier. Upper Euphrates & Kurdistan. B7 Erzincan: Egin (Kemaliye) near Ischek Maden, Sint. 1890: 2687! B9 Van: Artos Da., D. 22743! C9 Bitlis: Pelli Da., 2500 m, D. 22461! Hakkari: Hakkari, 1800 m, Birand & Karamanoğlu 408! Soviet Armenia, Iran. Bornmüller (Feddes Rep. Beih. 89(1): 45, 1936) recognises a variety, macrostyla, with longer styles than the type. This character is not well correlated with geography, and the taxon is therefore not recognised here. |
