E. hakkiaricum Cullen in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 26: 195 (1965). Caespitose perennial. Stems ascending, canescent with an indumentum of bifid hairs, up to 12 mm. Leaves almost all basal, rosulant, very narrowly oblanceo-late-spathulate, canescent, with an indumentum of bifid hairs. Flowering pedicels 2-4 mm. Sepals 3-4 mm. Petals pale yellow, 7-9 mm. Siliquae spreading, some-what compressed, canescent with an indumentum of 2-fid hairs. Style 3 mm, with an indumentum containing some 3-fid hairs. Fl. 8. Rocky slopes near snow 3000-3400 m. Type: Turkey C9 prov. Hakkari, Cilo Dağ, 10 km W of Cilo Tepe, 3300 m, 16 viii 1954, Davis & Polunin D. 24160 (holo. E!). Kurdistan. C9 Hakkari: Kara Da., 3400 m, D. 24418! N. Iraq. A well-marked species, endemic to the mountains of S.E. Turkey and N. Iraq.. Nábelek's record (It. Pers. Turc., 1923) of E. nanum Boiss. for Turkish Kurdistan probably refers to this species. |
