Au. rupestris (Tenore) Cullen & Dudley in J. Arn. Arb. 45:399 (1964) subsp. cyclocarpa (Boiss.) Cullen & Dudley, loc. cit. Syn: Ptilotrichum cyclo-carpum Boiss. in Ann. Sci. Nat. 17: 159 (1842)! Perennial herb with a thick woody root. Hairs all stellate. Basal leaves ob-lanceolate to spathulate, canescent; stem leaves linear. Inflorescence a raceme. Sepals 1.5-2.5 mm. Petals white, entire, 3.5-5 mm. Siliculae compressed, glabrous, orbicular to broadly obovate, up to 8 mm. Seeds large, broadly winged. Fl. 5-8. Limestone screes and ridges, 1500-2800 m. Type: Kurdistan, Aucher 279 bis (K!). Lazistan, Upper Euphrates, Cilician Taurus, Anti-Taurus. A7 Gümüşane: Kara-hisartaş, Sint. 1894: 5505! A8 Gümüşane: Bayburt to Erzurum, 1500 m, Huet!
