Perennial, c. 15-25 cm, woody at base, flowering stems usually simple, glabrous, ± glaucous. Leaves ovate-oblong or oblanceolate, thickish, indistinctly 1 -nerved, sessile or subpetiolate; margin entire, cartilaginous-papillose. Petals pink, 6-8 x2-5-3(-5) mm. Filaments not connate; anthers slightly apiculate. Ovary 2-locular, 1 or 2 ovules in each loculus. Fruiting pedicels recurved, 5-8 mm. Siliculae broadly ovate-cordate, rounded at base, c. 7 ;< 8 mm; septum 5.6 x 2.5 mm: wings 1-1.5 mm, undulate and lacerate-dentate; sinus 1-2 mm; style 2-3 mm. Seeds usually 2, finely granulate, not mucilaginous. Fl. 5-9. Dry rocky slopes, often near snow line, 1500-3000 m.
