A. vaginans DC, Astrag. 210, t. 37 (1802).   Dwarf caulescent shrub with stems up to 30 cm. Leaves 4-7 cm, imparipinnate, widely spaced up stem, rachis spiny; leaflets 12-20 mm, linear-elliptic, shortly spine-tipped, glabrous above, sparsely simple sub-sericeous below, 5-10-paired; stipules 20-30 mm, glabrous, joined to more than halfway and sheathing stem. Flowers in dense globose or ovoid 20-60-flowered spikes. Bracts 10-20 mm, lanceolate, acuminate, sparsely white-hairy on margin and midrib. Calyx 15-17 mm, tubular, inflating slightly with age, long±spreading simple-white-pilose; teeth 4-6 mm, subulate. Corolla pale yellow, turning purple with age; standard 20-22 mm. Legume included in calyx, oblong, villous. Fl. 6-7. Woods, 400-1350 m.   Described from the Orient. Tournefort.   Scattered in S.. C. & E. Anatolia. A5 Amasya: nr.
