A. trifoliastrum Hub.-Mor. & Matthews in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 29: 301 (1969). Dwarf shrub with short stems. Leaves 2-4 cm; rachis spiny; leaflets 15-25 mm. lanceolate-elliptic, acute. spine-tipped, glabrous above, sparsely simple-sericeous below, 2-3-paired: stipules 13-16 mm, lanceolate, membranous, united at base, glabrous, ciliate. Peduncles scapiform, shorter than leaves, long white-pilose. Flowers in globose, 15-40-flowered spikes. Bracts 9-12 mm, ovate, acuminate, paleaceous, glabrous, ciliate. Calyx 13-15 mm, tubular at first, becoming inflated, long simple-white-pilose; teeth 5-6 mm. Corolla whitish; standard 15-18 mm. Ovary elliptic, compressed, densely and shortly simple-white-pilose. Legume unknown. Fl 6-7. Steppe, 1850-1950 m. Type: [Turkey B9] d. Van, Van-Hoşap, 20 km N von Van, 1950 m, 8 vii 1951, Renz & Simon, Hub.-Mor. 11467 (holo. Hb. Hub.-Mor.!). E. Anatolia, rare. B9 Van: 7 km from Van to Erçek, 1850 m, D. 44283! Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. Probably related to A. woronowii. |
