Map 30.   Bulb ovoid, 1-1.5 cm diam.; outer tunics dark brown, reticulate-fibrous. Stem 10-20 cm. Leaves 2(-3), fistulose-flattened, 2-3 mm broad, glabrous, much longer than stem; sheaths slightly inflated, distinctly ribbed, usually undulate-winged along ribs. Spathe small, caducous. Umbel regularly spherical, 2.5-4 cm diam. Pedicels subequal, c. 1.5 cm. Perianth broadly campanu-late; segments white or pale pink with purple or green midvein, 4-5 mm, broadly ovate, acute, scabrid on surface and slightly denticulate-ciliate at margin. Filaments as long as perianth or slightly longer; median cusp of inner filaments c. 1/3 x basal lamina and lateral cusps. Capsule unknown. Fl. 6. Clearings in Picea orientalis forest and Quercus petraea subsp. iberica scrub, on rocks, 1270-1650 m.   Type: [Turkey A8/9 Erzurum] Oltu.   N.E. Anatolia. Acanthoprason Wendelbo. Bulb subglobose. Stem fairly short and thick, shorter than leaves. Leaves basal, with no above-ground sheaths. Umbel mostly dense, with ± equal pedicels. Perianth stellate to ± broadiy campanuiate; segments somewhat connate above base with midvein becoming ultimately thickened and ± rigid and with involute margins, Filameats simple. Ovules 4-8 per loculus.
