Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Close to F. pinardii but flowers purple inside, and stem glabrous. The collection from B8 Siirt (Watson et al. 1192) is unusual in having very short stems, perianth segments, and protruding style. A collection from B7 Elaziğ (Haroğlu Da., Kuzey yamaç, 2000 m, Evren 618!) is very dwarf, and unusual in its slender papillose style and filaments, both exceeding the perianth. Records of this species from Soviet Armenia are discussed under F. pinardii.
